This post is about the power of intention setting, manifesting or vision boarding. The name is not as important as the activity. We recently moved back to Minnesota after living in Nevada for nine years, more on that experience in another post. We’d been back home for about six months when I finally had the time to tackle some unpacked storage bins. Now, these bins hadn’t touched in more than a decade. My husband “threatened” to throw them out more than once. Poor guy, he was the one having to lift these heavy things. AND they took up precious storage space in his beloved garage. However, he honored inner pack-rat and kept the bins. And boy-howdy am I glad he did!
I found a notebook filled with writing exercises from Julia Cameron’s “The Artist’s Way.” As I flipped through the notebook, the images below jumped out at me. They were from an exercise from Chapter 5: Recovering a Sense of Possibility. The prompt was to collect images representing ten things I wished to own but didn’t at the time.
Imagine my surprise and absolute delight when I realized that the first three things that I wished to own but didn’t are in our new home! My mind was blown. I had completely forgotten about this notebook and the images that I had collected. I am so thankful that I found this notebook to be reminded that the dreams I put down on paper 17 years ago…came true…AND even better than I could have imagined.
Full disclosure: I never finished the Artist’s Way, but I will now, to see what else might surprise me! I would love to know – what ten items would you like to own, but don’t yet? Take action with me by setting an intention of your own. My recommendation? Set it and forget it! Share in the comments below or create your own collection of images and email me, I’d love to hear from you!
